This prayer was written after praying with the readings of the Mass for the day and reflects a personal meditation on Holy Scripture.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
How simple it is to begin to pray with this sign made across my chest and even simpler still to invoke Your Spirit. Lord, come to my heart and stay with me a while. With the Spirit of Your Word, speak to me and guide my steps today with Your light.
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105
Entrance
Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. Psalm 47:2
If it be Your will Lord, today I might make some noise and launch my personal webpage. You are my rock, my refuge, my salvation and I want to shout it at the top of my lungs. You will hear me I know as You have always heard and seen me all the days of my life. May my voice be joyful and a true reflection of my communion with You through prayer.
Collect
O God, who through the grace of adoption chose us to be children of light, grant, we pray, that we may not be wrapped in the darkness of error but always be seen to stand in the bright light of truth. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
Sometimes knowing Your will is the most difficult part of living, especially when a decision to begin or end something is made and followed up with a definite action. When things happen spontaneously, it is easy to attribute them to You Lord and Your divine providence, especially when looked at in hindsight and the work of Your hand is clearly visible. But when the first actual step is mine, where I buy the domain and I press the publish button, only time will tell if it is Your will. Like Your divinely inspired Word, recorded over centuries and collected in the Bible and also like Your Church, established by Jesus, if it is Your will, the ministry will withstand the test of time.
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11
Having read the liturgy of the word for today´s mass, I find communion throughout.
“About this time next year,” Elisha said, “you will hold a son in your arms.” 2 Kings 4:16
This word speaks to me of perpetual hope, the same hope that is held in the conception and birth of a child or the conversion of an idea to the creation of an online ministry to evangelise through storytelling.
1 I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever;
with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known
through all generations. Psalm 89
It is not a matter of success and has more to do with compulsion. Your Spirit burns within me and I need to communicate it openly.
15 Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you,
who walk in the light of your presence, Lord.
16 They rejoice in your name all day long;
they celebrate your righteousness.
17 For you are their glory and strength,
and by your favor you exalt our horn.
18 Indeed, our shield belongs to the Lord,
our king to the Holy One of Israel. Psalm 89
I have been praying like this for over a year now. It is Your word, Your light, Your way, Your truth which guides me and has led me to this very moment. The initiative comes from You, I simply follow.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. Romans 6
In a way, by launching a ministerial webpage, a part of my private self dies with You, which I willingly accept for the hope of rising up again to live in the light of Your resurrection and the glory of Your name.
39 Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it. Matthew 10
I am here praying today because I answered a call from You two years ago. I gave up many aspects of my conventional life to follow that call and I am living the life You had thought out for me and for Your sake from the beginning of time. Lord, if it be Your will, bless my work.
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
